Monthly Prayer To a Saint

Mother Teresa

God, our loving Father, you have given us a beautiful example of love in action through your daughter Mother Teresa.

In her life she showed us how to follow Jesus by loving and serving others.She joyfully fed the hungry, rallied for the poor and unwanted,cared fir the sick and dying, and sheltered the homeless. May we imitate her love and generosity by reaching out to your needy ones. Thank you  for the gift of  Mother Teresa. Grant us your grace through her intercession on earth and in heaven. 

Amen.

To keep in the Saint part of this every month I will write a prayer -to a saint- and about a saint... i know mother Teresa isn't a saint yet.... but to most of us she already is....

Growing in Gods love....

  But I am like an olive tree growing in the house of God; I trust in his constant love forever and ever. I always thank you, God, for what you have done; in the presence of your people. I will proclaim that your are good.-Psalm 52: 8-9


But I am like and Olive tree growing in the house of God. We are those beautiful bitter salty olives getting grown by the help of God. We are those olives that have the bitter taste, that in growing in Gods kingdom, where God is trying to get rid of all that bitterness and saltness to become that rightful, beautiful, olive.

We are watered and given light, we need a prayer and God answers it. God is there to look after us in our bitterest moments and our sweet moments. God can only do so much to an olive, God can only do so much from heaven, we have to work on it to, we have to work on growing and becoming that juicy olive without the salty brine. 

We are that "Green" olive on the tree and God wants us to stay Green and not turn Black. Black of evilness, and green of greatness.God helps us to become a Green olive and not black, he wants all to become green so none are thrown away into the fire to burn.

How often Jesus uses  the growing of tree ( figs, olives) to explain the kingdom and the gospel of God and how to get into the kingdom and not into the flame of hell. We are the tree that bears good fruit and live how God wants.An how Jesus explains it, is just my Favourite I couldn't explain it better myself .

Jesus or God or any of the saints wants to us burn in the deep fire of hell. This past weekend, Jesus says that he must suffer  and be taken into the hands of the sinners. Peter -without thinking- says " Lord this must never happen to you"  and starts to rebuke him. " get behind be Satan" Jesus shouts " you talk not what God says, but what an earthly human says." Peter now getting called Satan after  having his name changed and givin' the keys to the kingdom of heaven.

We are those olives, those figs, that fruit, that bears the greatest of them all, if we believe in the one lord our God, the one lord of heaven and earth, hear and accept his word. 

" Lord God of heaven and earth, help me to become that perfect olive, help me to become the tree that bears the greatest of all fruit. Help and protect me from all temptation and guide  me to the path of righteousness and truth."

Tomatoes are coming :)

My small little box garden finally starting to produce some tomatoes. These are a little late I am worried that they will not get ripe on time for the frosty cold winter coming very soon, very sadly. Everyday Is a day that goes by and I see the growth in my tomatoes  make me thank God for all I have. God is great for giving us food and creation of life.  

My little sand box garden is producing lots of herbs like every year :)... I think I planted the tomatoes to late...   If i really have to I will pick them early and let them ripe inside. But they will stay on the plant for now, because they will like the 30+ heat we are still getting! God saw a plain planet and so he created us to use it and to show that we are worthy in his kingdom... Jesus said to us  "I am going now back to my father to prepare for you a place in his kingdom" Our room will not be ready until he calls us up into the kingdom. He wants to get us for who we truly are. So that when we go into his kingdom we will enjoy it to the fullest...

My grandpa- An EXCELLENT farmer- tells me lots of stories of him and his garden... with his gardens each year he puts many hours into it to see  a bountiful harvest and to eat what he harvested and did all that work for. I remember last year I helped him plant some corn, and we had a competition  of whos row of corn would turn out the best.... Surly enough, I still think I won to this day, but he think differently... His garden always come out with the best of  vegetables because he prays after he seed he gives thanks to God. I remember this one story he told me when he was at an older house before my time. He wanted a garden there so he made one, but the ground was made of clay and nothing can grow in clay, but he seeded and  then things started to grow in the clay, and  his neighbour saw and started questioning him about it , and saying " how can you get so good crops in this type of mud?" He replied " Prayer"..... He gave thanks to God and asked God to help him with this garden and to watch over it. I believe in miracles, and I believe this is one...

August 21 Gospel

I know it is a little late but o well.

Who do people say the Son of Man  is? Jesus asks "John the baptist others Elijah others Jeremiah or another prophet.... Who do you say I am? You are the Messiah the living God peter reply's.

Peter the one who jumps out and answers before anyone else even has a chance. By now I am thinking Simon Peter is just bagging to come into the heavenly kingdom, Bagging for eternal life.I have already went into Simon peters life a lot.... but i will catch you up on it. Peter as had such a relationship with Jesus. They had their ups and there downs. Ups is like the story today and downs when he loses faith and betrays him 3 times.

Now I'm not going to get into how we are all human and stuff like that. I want to talk about the GOLD of this story................

So after Jesus asks this question and simon answers it,  Jesus now names simon, PETER  which mean Rock....  So Jesus says "And on this rock foundation  I will build my church" Peter in meaning Rock is the  the foundation of the first church...Peter will be the foundation of this church.... Some people think of it has the Vatican because Peter  becomes the first Pope of the world. The foundation. Jesus is going over the top in saying not even his death can destroy the foundation, no not even his betrayal, no not even his doubting nothing even death.

The keys of heaven are givin to Peter (this is why he is shown with keys) and  the kingdom is now in Peters hands. Peter as to be shocked or in disbelief in what Jesus said. Jesus is know giving total control of heaven to Peter is loved disciple. Jesus is passing is role to Peter now and forever because whatever Peter prohibits on earth will be prohibited in heaven, whatever he bans will be banned from heaven. Jesus then therefore did a lot more with peter to prepare him for this role as leader.

May we all learn from this and bring peace to the world that god gave us and enjoy  the beauty of nature...... May we have a journey like Peter and learn from his

Fighters....

No I am not talking about those wrestlers or kick boxers or those peeps on t.v who get in violent fights. I am talking about fighting things in life and how to get where God wants us. If we belong to God, we must fight for what is right what we know is right in our hearts.

  We all fight something in our life if it's cancer, depression, getting bullied, or our selves... I have to say words that will help you through out whatever it is: It will be okay......... Some fighters are strong, some are weak.... Some are hypocrites some are true, some are believers, some are doubters....

God just wants us to  fight not for evil but for Good.... If we fight for what is Good we will always win...


We all have people there to help us and support us..... Like for me when I am dead tired during a race or a sport my brother is there to help me and give me that boost of energy to finish. Or my parents when I am down or fighting a cold of some sort they are their to help me, fight it and say things to cheer me up.  I am usually the one to go and help cheer someone up at school or to make them feel welcome.... Most kids leave it up to me to do that any ways. Even if they are  the worst kids in my class I still find in my heart to  listen and help them with whatever they need... I try....

Canadians woke up today, with some sad news..... They  woke up to that the great NDP leader, Jack Layton  Died early this morning in his house in Toronto.  The greatest fighter I know  as died at the age of 61. He fought if it was for is party, or to fight the cancer that he defeated until this new one came. He never quit.... He always fought. He had one type or cancer beat that and had a hip replacement earlier this year, he recovered fast for the election. He became the opposition leader, for a while and they found a new cancer in him which, sadly took his life........   He never stooped fighting......................

Fighting for what you believe is the only thing you can do. The Lord will help if it is good. He will punish all those who do not do Good and will rescue his people on eagle wins 

The Lord is Good, he will help the righteous and true, he will save you from death and bring you to ever lasting life on the last day Amen

Bread of life

Thunder shower to sun

Last night was just a down pour of rain. Down pour. I mean down pour. With hail and lots lots of lightning. Of course after cooking a three course meal for my parents it has to have a down pour of rain and the power had to go out. Not to long though.... just for a minute or two......

We needed a good down pour. The farmers gardens were just drying up like there is no tomorrow. It was good that we had that rain. The grass looks green again. The trees are bright and green again too.It has gone from one extreme weather to another. Flood to drought.

I think God saw everyone and answered everyone with prays for it to rain! It was so dry.... God saved the big ban! made us suffer and sent a big ban of rain here. When I was younger I use to think of  thunder storms like this: the thunder was the angels playing bowling,and the lightning was when they got a strike! they got a lot of strikes! 

I like to use the thunder storm as a story of life as well. First it is sunny and fine and then a little rain comes in. Out of not where it just starts to pour down like there is not tomorrow and on top of that it hails a lot. the rain and hail represents something in your life that disturbed the peacefulness of your life.  And after the storm comes a rainbow and  everything is back to normal until the rain comes again. 

Don't you find it ironic that after a down pour of rain, the sun is out, nice a bright,  nice and hot? After a cold rain and cold night you go into the warm sun to defrost and dry off  from your over night winter :). Rain gives us water for cooking and bathing and washing are the most common answers, but it also gives us baptism. It gives us the waters of foundation for baptism. 

The flow of water is easy and fast or hard or slow, either way  nothing can stop water. We can't stop it, we can't take it all, we can have more but others won't. There are places that would like a simply bottle of water just to drink to live. And most of us have a few sinks, a toilet, a bathtub, a water hose outside, and bottled water. Others want a simple bottle water.

May we learn the love and peace that God has for us through water. And may we use Water the best we can and not waste while others want! AMEN!

Make Peace Not War!

"Make Peace Not war"  One of my Favourite sayings... If you really think about it it brings a type of comfort to yourself and to the people around you. If God really wanted war on earth he would not have sent the flood  to Noah, he wouldn't have let the people escape from Egypt, he wouldn't have sent Jesus.  He did all of these things to make peace on earth, but some how as human as we are we made war instead of peace.

To be honest I am kind of surprised God did not send Jesus again to earth! Think with all the wars there as been, all the attacks on some country , all of the murders, the war in Afghanistan,  All of the stuff where there is no peace. Thinking of all of these wars and what not doesn't really have to do with us everyday people.  We as everyday people must be at peace with our enemy. That will cause one less " war" in our life time....

Lets start this off  in the Bible shall we?

Peace in Hebrew means "Shalom"


You lord give perfect peace to those  who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you-Isaiah 26:3


For all of those who love and serve God and keep God in there life, will have peace with God forever and ever. Forgiveness  is one way to stay with peace with God, we must forgive others and our selves to stay at peace. God will Give perfect peace and harmony to those who keep on the path God wants and if they trust there life with God the almighty father.

Those who do not  Have trust in God, are not at peace with God. God will have that final word even if they do not trust in him. God will say if they go to heaven or hell. Those who do not trust in God will never live in peace with God.

"There is no peace for sinners" says the Lord.


 No peace for those who betray the almighty lord of heaven and earth. The lord cam to save those from sin and to make peace between them.

We always here this saying " make peace not war".  How??? Well to make peace with our enemies can just be as easy as saying hi or smiling to them. Those can be the simplest things that can make a great friendship. The Lord put these people in our lives to test us to see if we can make peace with them, if we do we are at peace with God.

Now the most common peace. "Peace be with you"  at church. When we say peace be with you and shake their hand, we are forgiving any conflict between you and that person. To bring peace. Many people will go  to everyone around them to say peace. Don't. It is usually best to say peace with one or two people. Don't make a big show about making peace with one another. Don't go around to every pew in the church saying peace to everyone. 

Child to Priest......

Every year the years go down until that day when I become a priest. 14 or 15 more years I believe even with thinking about it makes me soo happy :)

It's always been my dream to become a priest since grade one or two I believe. It's just something I heard God calling me to do and still calling me to do. God speaks very loudly in my life, and I try to let I'm into my life has much as I can.... 

Now how did this all start????

Well I was in  grade one I remember I went to a Sunday mass  at my church and I just got so inspired by what the priest was doing and wanted to see what he was doing.... we always sat near the back and i would always wanted to be lifted up and see what was going on, while my parents were saying I was getting to heavy to be lifted up..... Then one day we were sitting in the front row ( my favourite now)  and the priest got me to hold the book at the "Let us pray" there I was soo nervous but so happy trying to balancing  the book on my head. O, How happy  was getting to help the priest that inspires me to become a priest. (and still does)

He has been my biggest inspiration  to become a priest. And now I pray to God to help me go down that path   and to make sure that is my future. I pray to God that he will help me become a priest and pray for all those who to want to become a priest.

I have family behind me on this, cheering me on to one day become a priest and  helping to learn about God and to love God more everyday I shall live......

And now today, I am and alter server at my church and serve at Sunday mass and special masses... I like helping, it helps me to be on the right track and one day become a priest and possibly a bishop........

Love your enemies

The father in heaven has no enemies, not us, not the murders, not Satan, not your next neighbors kids,  not the people that bug you the most, Not the people that get drunk, not the people that have a bad attitude, not the people that swear and not the people of the world around us.... God is with everybody, it's if everyone chooses to accept God. God says no to nobody, In Gods kingdom there is no right or wrong everything is always right and on track. In the kingdom there is no bad or good it's always good.

" But I tell you who hear me; Love your enemies,do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and one who hits you on the cheek, let them hit the other one too; if someone takes your coat, let him have your shirt as well. Give to everyone who asks  you for  something, and when someone  takes what is yours, do not ask for it back.Do to others just what you want them to do to you." - Luke: 27-31


Jesus in this scripture is telling us about that we should have no enemies. If we do Forgive them, if they sin against us forgive them, that's the one thing he wants us to do is to forgive. Know if they make you go on a walk  for a mile take them another mile and make them suffer as well.... If they slap you on one cheek... give them the other to slap as well show them that you what they are doing is wrong, and you are giving them another opportunity to be bad,  which if they are pure evil they will slap again and not look for forgiveness.

So this is the first time when Jesus says that commandment out loud... it's on thing he came to preach and he preached it till the very end!


The people that just drive you crazy, the people that bug you all day long are the people that need the most love and forgiveness. They  need to find the love of God, they need to find what talents they have, they need to find themselves. But those are the hardest  people to forgive and to love, the bug us and we try and try to forgive and love , but just seems like we just can't. If we try... God will love and accept us... For the love and forgiveness of god can not be replaced or broken. for the love of God is the most powerful thing on earth.....


People think that if we do not ask for forgiveness on earth that we are messed and will go to hell..... No.... God will give us another chance in heaven... whether we believe in him or not.... God will give everyone a second chance in heaven to ask for forgiveness, but if they say no then it's off to hell they go.... But God gives  more chances in heaven for us to forgive. We can not judge others by the way the have acted on earth in how there judgement will be that's between God and the person.....


For God loves us so we can love him. For God forgives, so can we. For God will help others, So can we... For God is every ones friend so we can try...


Our road on earth can be bumpy at times, it can be with people who sin against us, people  who hurt us, it can be our sins, it can be anything, but there are five things that can help us on the journey of life.

1. God
2. Jesus
3. Holy spirit
4. Family
5. Forgiveness

God is  always there though we may sin and betray him, he could build the biggest church from us, we could do extraordinary things because God is with us. But sometimes it's not about doing the extraordinary things... it could simply be waving or giving a smile to some one instead of a stare. that saying is the number one saying repeated in my life.. a simple smile could change the world....

The Foundation

" Why do you call me "Lord, Lord," and yet yet don't do what I tell you? Any one who comes to me and listens to my words and obeys them --I will show you what he is like. He is like a man who, in building his house dug deep and laid the foundation on rock. The river flooded  over and hit that house but could not shake it because it was well built. But anyone who hears my  words and does not obey them is like a man who built his house with out  a foundation;  when the flood hit that house it fell at once -- and what a terrible crash. ---  Luke 6: 46-49




What were the people back doing just before the flood with Noah ? Sin. That is why he made the flood. Why did God send his Son?  Cause of sin. And yet today there is a lot of people who sin, kill, murder, get drunk and then drive. What can God do next? I don't know. We are human, and God sent the flood, sent his son to teach us and tell us to be better and get on the right path.

Gods love for us is SOOO GREAT he gave HIS SON to DIE For US. We can't even understand the love he has. His love is bigger than the sun, bigger than the universe, bigger than the galaxy. Bigger Yet! He wants us so bad on the final day, he will do whatever he can to make sure we are in his kingdom with him forever, because he made us and wants to take care of us! Things in this world will pass heaven and earth, people and pets, but Gods love will never!

People who hear his voice on earth, have a strong foundation in life, have a strong love for him. If we listen to him and obey him and have that strong foundation, we will not be snatched by the devil when he tries.....But those with little faith will be snatched by the devil  and how terrible it is for them because of their little faith.

Our faith is stronger than any thing on earth, Our faith  keeps us safe on earth, Our faith in God will always keep us alive and will always make us grow stronger in him with love and peace... Our foundation is always standing has long as we believe in God the father almighty.

God is telling us not to go and be hypocrites. If we say we believe and make our selves public while praying and giving alms we are hypocrites. God wants things in private, and our foundation will be built a lot stronger.

God Loves You!!!!

Children

We all have this "judgement" for little children. Either they are really good and cute or just plan annoying and disgusting. I can't really see how people can look at children that are small and cute and think the are annoying and disgusting.Children are the life of tomorrow, THEY ARE THE FUTURE.  Sadly some people can't see that and abuse and hurt children.

The real question now is:

 Did the Disciples like Children?


 So Jesus called a child to come and stand in front of them, and said "I assure you that unless you change and become like children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.-  Matthew 18: 2-3


"Unless you change and become like children" As tough and big and strong the disciples are they  are told by their master that they must change and become like children to enter the kingdom of heaven.What is a child? and how do we change to become one? Children are  playful, loose, sometimes easy going, loving and cute. They also will let things go easily, but the bad part is that they can cause a lot of  trouble. God is not asking for us to cause a lot of trouble he is just asking us to be good easy going and to follow him as a child would follow is mother, to love him and to keep him in their hearts forever. Jesus knew from the very beginning that Judas would betray him, peter would doubt, and deny him, and he knew that Thomas would doubt him, he knew he would die, and he knew/knows all of our sins and good things we do in out life time. We must become innocent  little children that are born again by the spirit  and worship and follow the almighty God in heaven.

Then you flip the page in the bible and you get this :

 Some people brought children to Jesus  for him to place his hand on them and to pray for them, but the disciples scolded the people. Jesus said" LET THE CHILDREN COME TO ME, and DO NOT stop them, because  the kingdom of heaven  belongs to such these." He put his hands on them  blessed them and went away after that.-  Matthew 19:13-15 



So in this one  Jesus is inviting the children to him to love them and to bless them. As worried as the disciples are they jump in and send the people away, when Jesus saw what was going on he jumps on it and shouts " LET THE CHILDREN COME TO ME" and at that moment all the disciples are now embarrassed for sending the people away. It's not said how many disciples were there just that there was disciples present.
So has the disciples tell the children to back up and leave the parents are just starting to leave and must be arguing with them.

 So Do the Disciples not like Children??
