Faith!

      Today, I just don't know what to write about. I woke up, turned on my computer, sat down, and my mind went blank. I just had nothing on my mind to write about. So then I went to my handy-dandy bible, That always helps me, to find SOMETHING to write about.

So, with an optimistic mind I turned to Matthew 5, 6 and 7 ( My favorite part of Matthew and possibly the bible.) And I read all the stories and i think I've blogged about them all... Possibly twice.... So I was stuck. K, so then I thought maybe if I stare out the my window long enough, something will come to me. Because I always find God in nature. But not today. I didn't know what to do. Then, all of a sudden I thought of a conversation I had with someone yesterday, and it stuck to me  because I thought about last night all night.

      One of my friends that i haven't talked to in ages added me on facebook a few days ago. And so I accepted the friend request. No hi, no nothing just got to his point quickly. This is what my friend had to say, "Michael, I don't believe in christ jesus or god i am atheist what do you have to say about that mr priest?" And my response was simple, "All I have to say is that it is your choice to believe or not to believe.... God will come into your life soon enough" I know it might have not been the best answer. But it was my answer and I stand by it. But I was very surprised by what my friend said because knowing everything that had happen to him in the last 3 years is just amazing.

God shows himself, to all of us at different times, some when we are young and some when they are older. My friend is the same age as me, we use to be in the same grade. Yes, I could have tried and made him see the great things of being a Catholic and all the things Jesus does for us and quote and un quote from the bible. But that wasn't necessary. I didn't need to. All I thought i had to say was, It's your choice, But god will reveal himself to you soon.

I pondered on this, all night. Thinking about stuff thats happened to him and then thought of why wouldn't he still trust in God. But then he was one to question everything, and be iffy about this stuff. And I could see before that it could lead to this one day. And I got saddened that he couldn't hold his ground as a catholic. But it's not my choice or my say what religion people are.

Jesus told them,"Because you have seen me, you have believed; Blessed are those who have not seen yet have believed"
John 20: 29

What would you have said? To someone who would say that to you. I know you don't have the whole story of his life, but it's not my job to let the whole world know it. But What would you have said.... I'm curious.

The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake

Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they
comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
 in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup over flows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.

Five Minute Friday: Stretch

      And it's Friday today; and you know what Friday is.... Five Minute Friday. So here's the rules we have to follow:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

So, Today's is on Stretch.

Ready
Set
GO!

       Before you do anything athletic you are suppose to Stretch! I will admit I don't all the time. But it's so we are safe from pulled muscles and other muscle pains. Yes, Some stretches hurt and others don't. Others are fun and others are not. Some are because you want to, and others are because you are forced to.
       But we all know we have to stretch. We don't want to end up in the hospital. So we stretch because we know it will help us. And So then, why do we pray? So can help us? Yes. We Pray when we need help, or a simple thank you.  Some prayers we pray are easy to say, and others hurt us to say; Some prayers are joyful and others are not. Some prayers are because we want to pray, and other prayers are because we don't know where to turn.

      So Just as it is important to stretch before a game or an activity or simply a Jog, It's also IMPORTANT to pray before we start are day, during our day, and when we end our day. I will be the first to say, that I don't always pray, just as I don't always stretch and then regret it after a game. I need and want to talk to God More!

STOP!

Thats it, Hope you enjoyed.... Sorry, I'm a slow at writing....  :P

Man Sees Jesus

Cleaning

        Yesterday I cleaned my big book shelf. Well, 1 Shelf for books, 3 Shelves for my religious stuff and 3 shelves for junk. So I went on the dangerous path to clean the book shelf. The religious stuff was just to go through it and clean them. But then my junk, I spent all my time going through it, and throwing majority of it away. So now, my book shelf is 4 religious shelves, 1 for books, 1 For showing things of, Souvenirs and stuff and 1 for junk.

I did spend majority of my day yesterday cleaning. I don't really enjoy it, I just needed to before I go back to school. I'm trying to make my room, my working space, instead of the kitchen table. But anyways, next to clean is my desk, my drawer and my bedside table.... Scary stuff.

       of course as I'm cleaning I never, really focus on cleaning, I think about many other things, that I find or whatever my mind really thinks of. And as I was cleaning, I was thinking about a clean body. Having a clean and presentable body..... Into the bible I went......

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy spirit, who is in you, whom you have receive from God?
1 Corinthians 6: 19

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of Gods mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship.
Romans 12: 1

      We receive Jesus and we accept him. We bring him, and accept him into our bodies. Our bodies are a living temple. Not like the temple's curtain that tor when Jesus died. A temple of which Jesus can live in us and work in us. God has given us this temple, and he has given us the choice of  yes or no. So we can say yes to Jesus or no to Jesus.

God wants to work in you.

Then in Romans we find that we are told by Paul, to give our bodies, our temples, as living sacrifices. We must be holy and pleasing to God. Not to anyone else; only God. This is our reasonable and spiritual act of worship to our God, by letting him use our bodies has a place to live and a place to continue his work, that he entrusted us when he went back to his father.

Will you let him?

So, lets try to keep our bookshelf clean. Maybe there won't be a room for junk... But that's what God wants. And he wants the rest of the shelves set aside for him and his work. We are the temple of God. We are our own sacrifice and we are here for the work of God.

I'm Back!

Honey Moon Island
     I'm back, from my 10 day vacation. I took a few books with me; Never touched them. I took with me a mind thinking of time of relaxation and not being busy; the opposite happened. If you read my post called,"vacation" Then you would have read that I thought it would have been a nice relaxing time. Nope. We were busy every day, all day. We went to All four Disney parks in three days! I'm not complaining here, I'm just saying. I loved it though. We went back in 2010 and I fell in love with it. So, forward two years of me asking to go back and I did :) I went back and I enjoyed every minute of it.... Even if I was sick, in bed....

Here's some pictures:

Honey Moon Island

On, my vacation, There was my uncle,my brother,my sister and my uncles friend, her son and me. There were 6 of us. And so we needed food right? well of course we did. And we had lots. Lots of food. by the  end of the week in about two days we ate, 4 thick pork chops, 3 fillets of salmon, 2 fillets of tilapia and a partridge in a pear tree....  hehe.... K but the point being there was a lot of food left, and we had to finish it.

41 Then the Jews began to complain about Jesus. That was because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." 42 They said, "Isn't this Jesus, the son of Joseph? Don't we know his father and mother? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?"43 "Stop complaining among yourselves," Jesus answered. 44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me brings him. Then I will raise him up on the last day.45 "It is written in the Prophets, 'God will teach all of them.'—(Isaiah 54:13) Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.46 "No one has seen the Father except the One who has come from God. Only he has seen the Father. 47 What I'm about to tell you is true. Everyone who believes has life forever.48 "I am the bread of life. 49 Long ago your people ate the manna in the desert, and they still died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven. A person can eat it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Everyone who eats some of this bread will live forever. The bread is my body. I will give it for the life of the world."

          This was this August 12, 2012 Gospel. I really enjoyed this gospel and the first reading and how they fit together. But you know that saying, " You must read the Old Testament to understand the New Testament and You must know the New Testament to understand the Old Testament." Well it's kinda like that.
       This weeks Gospel is a continuation from John, from last week. The Bread of Life. This part of John is one of my favorite readings/sections of the bible.  John paints the picture for us. So, we find here that  the Jews were complaining about, what Jesus said..... Nothing new.....  Not only that God gives us his son, but the Bread of life so that we might live. And we may only live if we listen and learn from the son.
       A person can eat it and not die. I love that line. It's securing, to know that we may NEVER die from eating this food. That we may NEVER die, if we believe. If we believe that He is the way and if we Listen and learn from him.

4 Then he traveled for one day into the desert. He came to a small tree. He sat down under it. He prayed that he would die. "Lord, I've had enough," he said. "Take my life. I'm no better than my people of long ago." 5 Then he lay down under the tree. And he fell asleep.Suddenly an angel touched him. The angel said, "Get up and eat." 6 Elijah looked around. Near his head he saw a flat cake of bread. It had been baked over hot coals. A jar of water was also there. So Elijah ate and drank. Then he lay down again.7 The angel of the Lord came to him a second time. He touched him and said, "Get up and eat. Your journey will be long and hard."8 So he got up. He ate and drank. The food gave him new strength. He traveled for 40 days and 40 nights. He kept going until he arrived at Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

      After Elijah thought he had done enough. He wanted to die. He thought his time was up. But no, God had something different in mind. And God usually does. For the better... Anyways, we have in August 12, 2012 first reading that fits perfectly with the gospel. The Angel has cooked for Elijah some Bread. Bread that was cooked over hot coals. The angel, tells Elijah certain instructions, to get up and eat because his journey will be long and hard. That food gave him Strength. Just like the food Jesus gives us. The food Jesus is.

We are fed for our journey, we are fed for our road, we are fed by the body and blood of Christ. For our long and hard journey, we need this food to live on. We need Jesus. We need him to complete our road.

So, may our earthly food not be the food we store up, but the food we store up on his the food of Elijah, the food of Jesus. Jesus the bread of life who came down from heaven. And Cooked a loaf of bread over hot coals so that we may eat for our long journey.
